We have identified five key strategies to help preserve and protect Rondo.
1 Preserve the legacy of Rondo
The Rondo Roundtable will:
- Promote Rondo as a community, not just a neighborhood
- Share stores from that past that need to be remembered
- Uncover new and inspiring stories
- Find ways to bring those stories to life at events, happenings and everyday experiences
- And more
2 Preserve what was lost in Rondo
The Rondo Roundtable will:
- Shout to the rooftops about the work being done to support businesses and families
- Make sure the voices of Rondo supports and elders are heard and respected
- Share what we’ve learned, what restoration looks like and how we’ve progressed
- Work together to leap over barriers in pursuit of real progress
3 Support Generational Wealth Building for Black People
The Rondo Roundtable will:
- Host and participate in education events
- Create wealth-building programs
- Conduct studies around the impact of generational wealth
- Celebrate successful outcomes
4 Support and amplify Rondo Roundtable organizations
The Rondo Roundtable will:
- Elevate the actions needed to preserve, protect and promote Rondo
- Support each individual and organization involved with the roundtable
- Celebrate our successes individually, collectively and as a Rondo-loving group
5 Promote the future of Rondo as a cultural district
The Rondo Roundtable will:
- Continue the work to finalize the boundaries of the Rondo cultural district
- Finalize what the Rondo cultural district stands for, what the unique characteristics are and why we should all care
